Shared Formulas

Shared Formulas offer a simple, form-based approach to media automation. Instead of building flows with individual flow elements, Formulas let you configure processing rules for Video, Audio, or Images using an intuitive UI with drop-downs, sliders, and toggle switches.

Formulas require a valid FileFlows license. Both submitting and downloading formulas requires an active license linked to your fileflows.com account.

Downloading Formulas

  1. Open the Formulas section in the FileFlows WebConsole
  2. Click the Repository button
  3. Browse the available formulas
  4. Select the formula you want and click Download

A FileFlows license is required to download and use shared Formulas.

Submitting Formulas

To contribute a formula to the community:

  1. Open the Formulas section in the FileFlows WebConsole
  2. Right-click on the formula you want to share
  3. Select Share
  4. The formula is uploaded to fileflows.com and enters the review process
  5. Once approved, it becomes available for other licensed users to download

Submissions are reviewed for quality and accuracy. Ensure your formula follows standard naming conventions and includes a clear description.

Publishing Updates

Updates to your published formulas follow the same process as submissions:

  1. Open the Formulas section in the FileFlows WebConsole
  2. Right-click the modified formula
  3. Select Share
  4. Your changes are submitted as a new revision
  5. After review, the updated version becomes the latest available

You can have multiple revisions pending review simultaneously, but each must be approved before publication.

Deleting Formulas

To remove a formula from the Shared Repository:

  1. Visit My Repository on fileflows.com
  2. Select the formula you want to delete
  3. Choose Delete for a single revision or Delete All to remove the entire object

Deleting removes the formula permanently from the repository. Users who have already downloaded it will retain their local copy.
